A Study On Functions Of Forefront Identity Manager

Management is a tool used by all businesses and by forefront identity manager to do their operations. It involves performing different functions and they include staffing, organizing, directing, planning and controlling. Top level managers are in charge of doing all these therefore you expect them to be skilled and experienced people. They need to be the oversight and principal administrators of the business hence you will expect them to have great knowledge of doing things too.

Management refers to a overseeing the activities of the organization, and here the managers are required to do their best to improve the organization. They are principals with overall authority hence they are required to do some managerial functions. These functions are the techniques towards better business performance and they include staffing, organizing, directing, organizing and planning. All of these need to done by management usually in synch so that all the operations of the firm run smoothly and towards a common goal.

They need technical skills as well. They need to help with their expertise when it is required especially in technical areas. You may find that the employees are stuck in doing a certain technical project hence the manager skills come in handy in these situations.

Human relations skills however are the most important. They go hand in hand with the staffing function. The skills are required so that the manager gets to know how to handle the employees in the organization; treating them fairly and motivating them so that they can be satisfied with the job environment for them to be more productive. Harsh managers are likely to build a poor working relationship with the manager and they are likely to produce poor results.

The staffing function is one of the most important as it involves important elements that enhance production; the human labor. The managers are responsible for obtaining human labor from the general population. Normally this is done by the human resource department and the issue of staffing starts all the way from recruitment to training to performance appraisal. The managers should ensure the employees welfare and satisfaction so that they are very productive.

However what initiates other management functions is planning. This is important to give the business a focus. It is unlikely that the firm will produce good results given they do not have goals and objectives that guide them. The manager therefore decides what the organization is to achieve and strategies and procedures to do that are laid down as well.

Managers also need to do staffing and directing. These two are broad as well. Staffing involves the basic unit in the production process which is the human labor. The managers therefore do recruitment of new employees, train them and evaluate their performance later on. However one important thing that managers use in making employees work harder is through motivating them.

Management by forefront identity manager makes also the use of controlling function. It is of utmost importance given that without it wastes are inevitable. It is important as a hitch is identified early and handled before it affects productivity.
